Introduction

Hello, please, allow me to introduce myself. I'm E. L. Bulloch, the author behind this site, and I wanted the first post on my News and Notes page (my blog) to be a self-introduction so you can get to know me a little better. Now, I've been a teacher for almost two decades, so feel free to ask questions.

This website is currently being constructed and will be under revision for some time. I am new to the world of writing Young Adult fiction, but I am quite experienced at writing adult dark fantasy and gothic horror, set in my home state of Louisiana. I would add all of this to my other website, but given how dark and disturbing some of my other fiction is, I do not want to risk any young readers who partake of this line of books to accidently pick up (or have a parent pick up) some of my darker adult fiction and be traumatized. So, no, the pen name I am using here is unrelated to my name.

So, how did I select this pen name? I combined elements of the names of both of my grandmothers. I wanted to connect to my family and history but keep enough distance to make it harder for any who know me to make the connection unless I want them to know about this.

So, a little about me. I've taught at the university level for almost twenty years. Before that, I was a funeral director, and I have done stage magic and performed as a violinist in an orchestra. I enjoy playing games like Dungeons and Dragons and Magic the Gathering, reading a good dark fantasy or paranormal romance with a cup of hot tea or a mug of black coffee, binge watching the television of my youth and paranormal investigation shows, baking all kinds of sweets and breads to share with those I love, and snuggling my two sweet black cats.
